Xenons or standard lights?

i will be ordering xenons for my fast family hatch (replacing a 5dr Impreza WRX which was one too). i don't think sportscars come with an option of rear air bags?

i certainly don't think they are worth it for a grand, but it's a reasonable price to pay considering i'll be keeping the car for 6 years ish, and am going for pretty much everything else too. they look cool even if they will result in me getting flashed

agreed. its a waste of money. i have been advised on 3 seperate occasions by different dealers over the years that a tom tom is superior and that the factory fitted sat nav is a load of old sh1te.

What they mean is that the sat nav is not worth 2k. You just have to trust me when I say the RNS510 is 10x better than a tomtom. Apart from the 5 digit postcode search... the tomtom doesnt even come close.

But i guess if you like circular suction markes all over your sceen and your glove box broken into on a regular occassion then go for the tomtom.

p.s The RNS510 can be had off ebay for about £800 fitted

This isnt the case. I have a cunning way of using my TomTom in the MK5 which I will post up later when I get home, I think once you all see those with MK5 / 6 and TomToms will use this method from now on

or, and call me crazy, you could print a map off the internet for free, then use these things called road signs along with your sense of direction, and save yourself the hassle/money!   i only use my tom tom as a guide, and rarely use it anyway, otherwise you become too reliant on the computer telling you where to go.

lol thats the worst argument against satnav I've EVER heard. Following a satnav is a thousand times easier than trying to look at a map, then read road signs and then the map all whilst driving in an area you don't know very well / at all.

no its not lol!  if you have a decent sense of direction and you have looked at a map previously (not while you're driving) then you shouldn't have a problem!  in that case everyone got lost before the invention of the tom tom!

Well TomTom will have their kit for the iphone available soon so I reckon that will make a lot of folks think twice about a factory fit satnav.

Although the map argument is a good one (albeit a dated one) I have used this method many times in the past and its worked relatively ok. However I usually use my sat nav at short notice i.e. on the move, so printing out the map would be almost impossible.

I also think we are overlooking the fact that the 510 has a 30gb internal hd, a 2gb sd card slot, and makes the interior look much better than other cars priced above the Golf!! I just wouldnt pay full whack for it thats all

i dont have the sat nav in my mk6 but have the 510 in as i only use sat nav very occasionally and had a tomtom already so did not see the point
