Removing the 'beep beep' in my central locking
« on: 15 August 2009, 10:39 »
Hi,

My central locking has a very loud 'beep' noise when i lock/unlock, where may i be able to find the part that
handles the beeping & when i find it, is it just a case of unplugging the wires?

Thanks.

Well it is not factory and sounds like something has been added, find the unit and cut the wire.

Will it just look like this: http://www.autoectech.com/auto%20accessories/car%20horn/horn.jpg

Unplug it and if the central locking looking still works leave it be.

Ok, so located the beeping which was coming from under the bonnet & i think it's the bell shaped object in the photo below.
It has 2 wires coming from it, what now? if i disconnect it, wont they disable the alarm too?

Well that alarm is not factory, yes if you disconnect it then it might not work but it is the only way to stop it beeping.

The beeping is the alarm arming itself 2 beeps armed 1 beep disarmed,no beeps no alarm my clifford alarm did it on my scoob at least you know it works! But on mine you can adjust the loudness of alarm and sensitivity in the alarm box/bell its a little volume switch.
