The old b!tch...
« on: 09 August 2009, 16:43 »
...is still fighting hard and I am now getting very dispondant with it. In fact, I may break it for spares if I don't come up with a solution soon!
Changed the throttle body yesterday in case the throttle position sensors were playing up causing me this heartache and grief. I then ran it last night and this morning to let the installation calm down, then went about setting it up, and....er no! I got so fed up with it that I have now disconnected the lambda again and am going to let it run 'as is'. I don't have much more to test, and when the lambda is connected, the engine is always pulling back. I am thoroughly sick of it and now want it gone!
I have changed,
Blue sensor.
ECU.
ECU chips for various ones.
MAF sensor.
Throttle body.
Lambda probe.
Lambda relay.

The problem is definately fuel related. With any sensor disconnected, the ECU goes into 'safe' mode and the car work normally, albeit down on power. I don't have a fcuking clue what to look at next, although I am eying a box of matches on the fireplace with a glint in my eye.
Some people on here may suggest a rolling road set up, but that will not sort the problem. I need to fix the fundamental problem before putting it on a rolling road for fine tuning, otherwise I will be wasting money.
The ECU at the moment is running a standard chip, as it needs to run properly with this installed before I go and fit onother chip to suit the compressor set up. But, the engine hesitates up to about 4000rpm, then it seems to clear its throat and take off. And this happens suddenly as if someone has switched on the power. I am lost and pissed off!

Semi rant over! Apologies. :embarassed:

Mate, sign up to southerndubbers.com and PM a chap called TimG60 on there. Tell him I sent you and I reckon he might be able to help you out with diagnosing your problem. He built and runs a poop hot rallye and has just built a stonking G60 lump for a mates B3 syncro, he knows his stuff. He might be reasonably local to you as well as he lives in the southern area somewhere.

But I know the problem with yours, and its only a money and spares issue. Mine, I don't have a clue what to look at next. I could bang it into G-Werks or Jabbasport, but I think their hourly rates are very high.
I just want someone who knows these cars very well to come and give me a hand. I will pay them, but don't want to pay these specialists garages rates.
I'm getting a little desperate! :embarassed:
