If you do lots of short journeys it's probably that. Try walking to the shops and see if it clears up. You might lose some weight too. ;)

I didn't stay to find out if it ran hot, no service history and at strong money, is there no decent mk3 or mk4 out there, 4 weeks and 500 miles of distance travelled.

if theres no service history then walk away. There's plenty of decent mk4 gti's out there for around the 3k+ mark. Just need to look harder  :cool:

Found this link and Found the same problem but if you drive it for longer periods of time it stops.
Wife drove for approx 5-6 miles a day and was causing this.
