Hello when my mk3 is on idle it sits at 1000 rpm and drops to 800rpm then 1400-1500rpm then 800rpm and it does this all the time non stop any ideas? :laugh:

do a search for idle problems and read everything.. there is quite a lot it might be.
Wouldn't be fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

Has the 1.4 not got a carb?  If so there will be an idle jet that will probably be blocked.

its a 1.4 1995 ive done the sparks,leads,dizzie cap and rotor arm

Is that single point injection as opposed to multi on a gti, how does that work then?

yes..


well its like a carb, but it has one injector that feeds all 4 cylinders unlike gti's that have one injector per cylinder.
