Got also a TTS Froggy ?

Thought your other car was a dull and blend Espace

Sorry, it's not a TTS, only a 2.0 TFSi; and it's not mine, I'm selling it for my brother-in-law. You're right about the Espace, though it's not as dull as our 3rd vehicle, the Ford Transit van

Im guessing its the TTS by the silver wing mirrors.

Trick of the light, they're body colour - a weird kind of pale silvery green that changes depending on lighting conditions. He's had it for 2 1/2 years and only done 4000 miles, shows how nice it is to drive, lol

Thanks  It's not that I don't believe you about the 0.6 inches. What I mean is that the Interlagos stick out about 1/4" from the wheelarches, but probably 0.6 inches more overall than the standard Monzas, as these remain a few mm inside the arches. Not very elegantly put, but I hope you get my meaning
Sorry if you misunderstood me i was not saying anything like this i was simply wanting to find out for my own reasons as i would like to use these wheels myself. I was not trying to say you were wrong or anything like this, i was simply trying to find out the infomation i needed for myself (which you supplied with the measurments above) to make sure i stay within UK law that says something like the top of the wheels / tyres cannot stick out from the top of the arch.
I think i may have came across wrong in my replies and im sorry for that. The last post was simply letting you know more infomation i had found just to let you know, as i thought it maybe interesting to you too, nothing more.  Sorry for any misunderstandings

Hey, no problem, Snoopy. I wasn't offended - we're only talking about wheel offsets here, hardly the most pressing concern of all time  I am pretty sure you would be ok with these wheels in the UK. Theoretically, we have the same guidelines in France for the same reasons, but it's only the sidewalls that protrude really; the tread part of the tyre is well inside the wheelarch, at least at the top. Obviously, the tyres stick out more as you move down to the ground, but no more than with several other cars/makes I have noticed driving around on stock wheels. Hope this helps and thanks for your apology, even if it wasn't really necessary

I can no longer see the awesome pictures of the CSG with the Interlagos, I was really considering getting those wheels. Anyway you can repost them? I would be eternally grateful

There you go, I reupped the delivery-day photos (page 1). Kind of funny to see my car with the gloopy old Touraeg-style rear lights again :lipsrsealed:

Hello FroGTI,

I sounds like you may have moved on to other forums, but I thought I would try to take a shot at contacting you anyway. I'm considering your same wheel and tire combination for a US 2010 Golf TDI, but I am a little worried about what some people call poke. I'm hoping the 8 x 8 ET41 will be flush with the fenders, but not poke out beyond. The wheels will come with 235/40/18 tires, but of course I can change to 225/40/18 in the future. Based on your posts and looking at what pictures have survived, it seems you are happy with your wheels and tires and they look good on your GTI. I was hoping you would confirm that the top of the wheels and the tread of the tires are under the fenders. In one more recent post, you indicated that maybe the bulge of the tire was poking but not the tread. I would also be interested to know if the top edge of the rim is under the fender.

Thanks for your help, if you are still here on the forum.
