MDSS MK6, have you got yours with Monza Shadow 2 or the standard wheels? If you've got the shadows and are willing to sell I've got a bag money waiting for you

Soz, only the standards I'm afraid - and tbh i'd probably keep them to put back on the car come resale time rather than flog them. Damn shame thou, always partial to a bag of cash

But having promised the other half there "won't be any mods this time" its worrying how much time I've already spent looking at alternative alloys lol. The satin black bbs ch's look like they might fit nicely.......

leave them forum now if you want to keep your money in your wallet

if its one thing we're good at, its emptying your wallet with those must have essential mods

Hehe, don't worry, I know the routine, and I can assure you my car will never go anywhere near Awesome GTI ........for about a month  My current car is an audi a4 avant, and is ermm not quite how audi sent it out the door (coilovers, chipped & milltek'd & 19" BBS).

And thats before we even start on the hi-fi obsession

ah so a fellow serial modder then

A4 sounds lush

anyone getting a black one...the 18s really, really look good....so much better in the flesh...honest!

I have seen them in person and thought they looked even more ghastly than on the photos I had seen. Apart from the fact that they look as if the driver has just driven through a pool of tar, the tyres don't seem to fit properly, exposing the outer edges of the rims.

Just had the call from the dealer, hopeful of delivery mid/late november, but I won't believe that til I get a build slot finalized  Apparently I can't have DAB (ok, so maybe cricket & fast cars seems a tad incongurous, but hey ), cos the rear view camera uses a slot up (seems weird to me that dab needs a slot, surely they'd just intergrate it into the head-unit), but apart from that, its all good.

Plenty of time to ponder any *minor* alterations  In the meantime, FroGTI's car will be staring in wallpaper form for a while yet

Personally, I dont mind them, I just prefer other styles more. But I do wish VW would offer a few choices, I had a lovely set of bbs rims off them on my mk4 & it really set the car apart. If Vw only did the golf in one colour, there'd be uproar. Its also just about the first car I can think of where there's basically no difference between the older car & the new, and given how similar they look in general, i reckon VW missed a trick (or ofc maybe they didnt & a yr from now I'll be trading this one in for a special edition ).

Absolutely, I'm happy for you if you like your combo, it's just not really to my liking. Black paint is fine, but I don't know, I've just got something (irrational) against those tar-coated, horseshoe Monzas. If they had been welded to the car and impossible to change, they would probably have put me off buying the GTI altogether, which is a shame, because it's an awesome car :)

I suppose it's about what you value.  I hardly notice the wheels on a car.  When I had my XR2 the wheel trims plastic) were nicked one night when it was parked outside my mother's house.  When I went to get them replaced the dealer was showing me a couple of different styles and saying, is this one OK for you?  I was, like, yeah, OK, whatever.  I couldn't have picked my old ones out of a police lineup on a bet.

I agree the shadow trims look cool.  I just don't CARE.

Rolfe.

Lol :) My wife can't understand what all the fuss is about, either. Men seem to be fixated by wheels in much the same way that women are obsessed by shoes :D
