Probably a 17/18 year old hoping to drop a VR6 engine into his car, not tell the insurance company, and try and get away with it.

Do it properly. Buy a VR6. Insure it as a VR6.

agree with everyone else here. Your starting with the wrong car for a conversion. If you really want to do it get a 16v and start from there.

Thought this was a place to ask the questions not to be spoken of as though i was a spotty teen trying to fidle insurance companies especialy when i have a 2 year old and another on the way.

That's fair enough then dude. Although I still think you're starting off with the wrong base car. My nan had a Mk3 Golf 1.4 match and it was THE most basic model Golf I think they ever made, lol!

Boooom...told you's lol

I suggest mate, that you only do the basics to it...Air filter, exhaust, give it a proper service drop it a little add some of your own little touches then sell it...get ya self a GTi (preferably a 16valver) then have some fun do some bigger mods to it...just my opinion mate, but do what ever you wanna do with it

if you want to build from scratch i would still start with a vr6 then put the 2.9 in and super charger it at least you wont have to swap every thing and i do mean every thing and you will end up with a beast of a vr for probably the same price as doing your 1.4 up just a thought espically since vr6 's are pretty cheap at the moment
