new to mk3's

hello i have recently got a mk 3 1.4 match.
I am planning to stick a vr6 lump in but want to do some simple mods to the exterior and interior
can anyone help me out?

First off you'll need one of these.

Subtle, hmm.

Headlights, smoke/tint yours, or buy GTi lights and do them, or there are always Hella Twin Headlights.

Rear lights, GTI/VR6 smoked lights

Lower.

What sort of thing do you want? Smoked look? Crystal () or what?

Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge" :grin:, auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

i've got smoked rears and the car is light green so smoked affect would look nice i think the colour code is ld6t i my mate has got a vr6 lump in his shed (on ice if you know what i mean)
gonna fit that later in the year winter time as its a good time so its ready for sring and the chasis and body on this is sweet.

Your best bet is to get a complete doner car, everything needs changing really.

You'll need a lot more than just the engine as Wayne says Bud.

Loom, ECU, Brakes, suspension are to name a few.

Then you will need the engineers report before you can get insurance which will be more expensive than a standard VR.

Would be a better option to get a standard VR6  :wink:

depends what look your trying to achieve, if its euro keep it oem+ with some fresh (green) wheels and a hefty slam.

You will need to change everything for the VR6.

All of the running gear, sub frames, driveshafts, hubs, brakes, engine, fuel pump, you will have no abs

You would essentially need to buy a VR6, and de shell it onto your car.

Just buy a VR6.

Its only worth upgrading engines if you have a good gti/16v. As then you are only talking a few bolts and a days work. Not a years work.
