£140 a corner for 16's   what would 18's be like  :lipsrsealed:

nah Steve! I paid £70 a corner for the Primcay's on my 16's

  I was shafted

At the time I don't think I paid too far over the odds though... If you have a Costco membership they only stock Michelins are about as cheap as you can get.

what do they wear like  I dont want something which is illegal after 10k, ideal 15k+ would be great that would bring me down to 2 sets front and rear a year  :lipsrsealed:

Can't really say for sure. They still have over 6mm left on the fronts after about 4k miles, so I guess the fronts may go 12K.

Not sure where you live, but check out www.event-tyres.co.uk they worked out the cheapest when I replaced the 17" Dunlops on my Gti last month and they come to you! I was very impressed. :)
I got about 13k miles out of my Dunlops and have been happy with them.

If your trying to save money, dont do it on the tyres. It really isnt worth buying cheaper craper tyres. They are the only point of contact on the road, pay decent money and get proper ones and save money elsewhere.

My thoughts anyway.

But spending £1500 a year on tyres I cant do

To be fair Steve your a bit of a exception to the rule with your ludicrous 30k a year mileage. Most "normal" people do about half if not less than half of that so should really be buying premium tyres. My Eagle F1 GSDs saw 16k out of them (all be it the front two where horribly illegal when they came off, that was my bad :( )
