Hi there, I've seen these:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-ts-a130ci.html?source=googleps for £43.99 ex delivery (cheapest place I've found so far, some places selling for £85).

Now these are pretty cheap in terms of components, has/does anyone have these? I'm looking at improving the quality of my mid-highs, but I'm not looking at spending loads and I also won't be getting an amp. (I know having an amp is much better and you also get what you paid for, but I dont really want to spend loads lol).

I'd just like to know if anyone would recommend these, or not... or anything else around the same price range.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Currently have Kenwood KDC-MP925 head unit and Pioneer TS-E1375 coaxial speakers.

Regards,

Garza

EDIT: well after reading some more posts... maybe I will consider an amp for the fronts  :undecided:, anyone recommend an appropriate one just to power the fronts? nothing top end... on a budget is the game lol

To be honest, they look pretty good to me.
Only go down to 41Hz, but then subs etc take over......

Should be good to augment your current system - go for it imho!

Bit late on but being new on here I'm just looking around for stuff for my MK4.

Anyway I had some of these components in my previous car and was quite impressed! Work well off a head unit, decent quality (not much midbass though). Good treble not too harsh but really need a sub to back them up properly.

Hi thanks for the reply. I havent got these yet, but if they run well off the head unit I am very tempted to get them. Don't really want to get an amp.

I know it may sound a little cheesy but it'd probably be worth adding some 6x9's maybe on a stealth shelf if you don't want to add an amp as it'll add a bit of depth and warmth to the sound, the front comps are good for the money but it's hard to expect much midbass from door speakers I feel, especially 5.25" ones.

For me they worked much better with bass behind them, hence the suggestion of 6x9's if you're not gonna be running a sub.

I'm not wanting to amp my speakers in my MK4 Golf I've just had so getting the most efficient good sounding speakers I can, have chosen Hertz Dieci 6.5" components, will run a small sub in the boot but amping speakers and running cables everywhere... well, I'll make do with a simple amp for the sub! lol!

Let us know how your new comps sound :)

well finally got round to fitting these speakers. My honest opinion.... very good purchase. For the price, the sound quality is crisp, especially only powered from head unit.
