Understand how you would join all the parts etc but how did you attach all the piping again?
That was a bit awkward to work out to begin with, because you have to sew the cloth inside out and have the piping run against its original bend, as it wants to stay the shape that it has taken over the years it has been on the seats. But once it is turned the right way round once the part is done, it then makes sense.
A good tip to making sure you dont gather more material on one side (if your hand sewing) is to make felt pen marks every 100mm on each piece of the material, and make sure they align as you go along. Otherwise it'll only show up when you put the cloth over the foam, and won't look right. No need to do it if using a machine though, because the foot will move both parts at the same time.
I just sewed through the original holes of the piping, and added a few more aswell. I tied bits of red cotton on the piping on bends and where the piping disapears into the seat on the lower bolsters, and made a felt pen mark on the inside of the cloth cloth where the red cotton was tied , so it would help me keep an eye on the piping and cloth being at the right place.
