RCD 300 to RCD 310 3rd Gen Stereo! Help Needed!

Hello. i have just purchased a brand new RCD 310 off of ebay to replace my RCD 300 in my mk5 2006 golf. now i have discovered you need a new can bus gateway and antenna adapter. The can bus needs to be of L revision on newer aparently...i have a part number i picked up from another site... 1k0907530S. Using ETKA iv noticed you can type in 1k0907530 with a whole load of letter on the end "M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T etc" and the same gateway come up. im guessing this is how you order a L revision or higher. I just want to clarify, if i order say an S "1k0907530S" will this work and stop me getting the 1.4v power drain. my local VW dealer quoted the part at £116

cameluk, i dont suppose you know the location of the can bus on an 2006 tdi140 gt? thankyou

I was looking into this same question as i am going to get an RCD 510, but I was just told on another forum that you dont need to change the canbus and the unit is plug and play, is it different for the 310?

no. i had read up on a few forums. and it seems quite a few people with revision previous to L all had the battery drain!
