In basic terms, yes.........................  It's a VR5. ;)

Should have reworded it, it is a VR6 block then.

no it's a different block. None of the Golf range had a true V engine, they are all VR by definition

It is one block yes but VW still called it a V6, and it is 15 degree angle, VR was German for very narrow
