Water inside of boot (Where spare tyre is kept)
« on: 14 July 2009, 23:45 »
has anyone had this problem before ?

I opened the boot today and noticed in the corner on the carpet that covers the spare wheel it was wet .....  now i have noticed this before but put it down to a bottle of water i had in the boot which could of leaked.

Anyway i lifted the carpet up and there quite a substantial amount of water in the well where the tyre was and underneath the carpet.

Not sure how it would of got it , and it has been raining on and off the last few days.

Car is still under warranty so i will have to speak to them about it i guess, but just wondered if anyone has experienced anything similar.

Does your rear window scoosher work properly?  VW's are famous for the pipes popping off in the rear tailgate...

I had this happen once and I am convinced it was that the tailgate wasn't shut properly as it has never happened again.

rear washer jet? possibly. If that doesn't work then the pipe might have disconnected therefore washer fluid is being pumped into the spare wheel well instead of the nozzle on the tailgate.
