Are these dealers official Volkswagen??

did you try VW in Harlow as i was thinking of using them...

Yes - all official VW dealerships.
Amazing how much the price varies between them!

I tried Abridge VW, in both Harlow and Loughton. The prices I put in the first post were from Harlow.......they quoted me £225 for a T&D, or £365 for a LL service.
VW in Loughton was even worse - £395 for the LL service, and about £280 for the T&D!!

I bet its worse the closer you get into London!

Well I finally got my first service done today from a VW dealer.

The dealer is around 17 miles away from me, since my local dealer wanted to charge just under £400 for an engine oil and filter change! Im assuming they were going to lick the engine clean afterwards as well for that price!

Anyways, got to the dealer (MJ Warner, in Herts) after a fun drive there, since its a lot of country lanes etc to get there

They took the car straight in, and told me it would come to £125 - as quoted.
They said it would take about an hour, to an hour and a half.
The service took around 45 mins - maybe it was quicker as I requested they didnt wash the car?!

Anyways, he came back and LOWERED the price even further.
He said it came to £106 and not £125 as expected!

Labour - £47.60
Filter - £8.73
Cleaner - £2.80
LL3 Oil - £33.60
VAT - £13.91
TOTAL - £106.64

They also did the Express Visual Check etc - which all turned out fine.
Finally, they topped up the washer fluid as well, and gave me the rest of the bottle - which is still over half full. (Is that what I was charged for as 'Cleaner'??).

Overall good service, at a good price.

MJ Warner are a dying breed and the kind of dealer we should all support. Very small family run sole dealer in a tiny village in Herts. Hope they can survive against all the local big boys. Another good dealer is Vindis Sawston, the Vindis group are not that great in my opinion and experience but the Sawston dealer still has the same feel and level of service that makes it stand out. Cannot recommend either enough to anybody in the Herts/Cambs area.

Yup true, I've informed MJ Warner to add me to their database, since they'll be my 'local' from now on. Even though they are 17 miles away from me, they are much cheaper then my so-called local dealers, and the drive there is cool!
lol

i have also used mj warner - they are excellent, although if you are taking the loan car for the day you may end up with a baby blue micra!  you may wish to take the day off instead or wait around for the service to be completed!!

rofl - I saw one of their loan cars parked in the rear car park - a VW Polo.
I just waited around though, since it was a pretty quick service.
