I've uprated the nozzles, running powerplus Sprint 520's now, fratelli - the real deal! - or at least will be when I get my injectors back on monday :p

I've read (and it of course makes sense) that when uprating the nozzles, among other things it is definately worth increasing cold air to the system to compensate for the added fuel...

Doesn't look to be too much wrong with that...

I'd leave the lid alone as there is already a nice smooth duct to get the air out.

For the base, maybe just work out a way of getting more air in. Bigger inlet?
Get rid of the angled inlet with the restriction at the inlet...and get a bigger inlet in there.
That's about all you can do. Seems to be a pretty good design as standard.

I took everything out of mine and took the standard air feed off. I bought a new 60mm air feed and put one end in the hole and the other end under the left side of the headlight right up close to the grill.

is it worth cutting the tubes away from the inside so the air goes straight in ie; not channelled

No, I wouldn't.
Fine it it's a restriction...but that looks to be parallel, with a flared end...which should air airflow out of the airbox.
I'd leave it, personally.

Look at the inlet though...try to get a bigger, coil air feed in there...from as close to the front of the car as you can.

hey, just to bring this thread back to lifa... again. lol
what dremel bit did you use?
i dont have a dremmel but obviously have a drill, is there an equivelant bit i could use to do the job properly?
seriously looking at doing this soon!
also is there a limit on what size in-let hole ya have, i know ess said that he had a 3" speaker port there, any bigger worth it?
and finally im going to feed cold air from the bottom of the front bumper, anything i should be considering before i go in head first?!
cheers!

Believe me its a dead ringer for you! Even says something stupid!

I personally wouldn't have a cold air feed from the bottom of the bumper, think of the crap that's going to go into it.
Water, bugs, stones, you name it, it'll end up in your air filter..
