ECU access
« on: 01 July 2009, 19:32 »
Hi,
Need to change my ECU as VAG com is showing a ECU failure and it is always in safe mode.
How do you get to it?
What do you have to do to change it please?

VAG com would think that it has failed because it is safe mode would it??

Thanks

Paul

Reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 30 mins. Try that.

Take your time.
If i remember right, some off those clips on the scuttle were f**king annoyingly stuck!
Try not to break anything, like i did  :embarassed:

It is the panel that runs along the bottom of the windscreen,

Its the plastic panel between engine bay and windscreen where wipers come through.
Lift bonnet and take off rubber strip.
You want the right side (nearside) half. Once the plastic studs are out you just have to watch the end bits around the bonnet hinge as that bit usually breaks!
