« on: 22 June 2009, 18:42 »
has anybody here ever used seafoam or a similar product. It's used quite a bit by the guys in the states to clean the intake valves that get filled up with gunk...

Check this out as im looking to get this done before I fit my Catch tank

I think its quite common in direct injection cars.. hence the need for a catch tank..

Can't help but Wynns also do a product that I'm told is only available to garages.

I haven't used this myself and thought that you used it like Seafoam, introducing it via the intake manifold.

IMO introducing it via the air filter route on a GTi means that it'll first go to your turbo then probably condense in your IC without actually reaching your intake valves.

Is it difficult on the gti to insert via intake manifold?

No need to buy on eBay, any good motor factor or car parts place sells Wynns, they must have a UK website with a stockist list.
