Once again I have looked under the car, and exept if there is a pump hidden on top of the tank, there is no other pump in this car........

I see that this pump assembly is the same as is used on newer VR6's and Passat G60.....

the part number on the pump assembly is: 191 919 061 BM

Does this part number make sense to anyone? Any info on this???

yeah as I say, only the in-tank pump on a G60 :)
oh and fyi, if you want to get a new fuel pump, a VR6 MK3 one will work, normal GTI one wont as its not high enough pressure, G60/VR wants a 4bar, MK3 8v/16v GTI is 3bar.
part number is 1h0 919 651Q.  I'm not sure if the level sensor bit is the same so you might have to unclip and swap the fuel pumpy bit over :)

thats another vw spectial then.

worked on g60's with under car pumps.  rally and g60 syncro had under car pumps well at least some of them did.
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Under part number 1H0 919 651Q I find both 3 and 4 bar units? Is the G60 supposed to have a 4 bar unit? IIRC the FPR is 3.5 bar, which would mean is needs a pump bigger than the FPR..., or?

etka specifically says the G60 pump is 4bar, so I'd go fo that. same as whats listed for the VR :)

looks like you used to be able to get the rubber bits seperate, but not any more :(

Thanks. Yeah, I see some ebay sellers are selling the pump as a 3 / 4 bar unit. I wanna be sure I get the right one.

if a pump is rated for 4 bar it will happily work on a 3 bar system.    the 4 bar bit means it can produce the required flow at 4 bar.
3 bar pups will do 4 bar but they struggel like hell to make the pressure and required flow normaly hence don't last long.  the pressure of the system is actualy governd by the FPR on the end of the fuel rail
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
