Backbox, drilled airbox panel filter will make a world of difference

too much weight up front.... handling wise the 1.8t or a tuned abf would be better

How much does the 1.8t weigh compared to the vr6?

How much does the 1.8t weigh compared to the vr6?

And the difference in delivery of power through the rev range.

Another interesting question is why do people underate the vr6 in the golf?
No-one has a bad word to say about the corrado vr6.
There is only 69cc difference between the two engines, but 16bhp difference.
That would suggest that the AAA lump in the golf is actually detuned.
My old vr6 made 190bhp on a rolling road, it had k&n filter, jetex full system and a remap.
The OBDII vr6's are supposed to make nearer to 190bhp standard, well according to the golf mag a few years back.

Yeah, the obd2 vr6 does make more power when allowed to breathe. And its a good engine, pulls all the way in all the gears, at all speeds, you dont get to 80 and slow down the acceleration, it just keeps pulling and wanting to put u in a ditch! lol

If i'd added cams to my old car, i would easily got over 200bhp.
Also i could of added a VSR, and given the car seriously more low down torque.
Who says the vr6 isn't tunable?

A supercharger is fairly big money. Granted it will give big power.
I'm just tired of reading people slag off the vr6, usually jealous 16v owners
The above i've listed aren't big money, except maybe the VSR.
