cant see why youd have to loose the digifiz  you can get all the same outputs from the abf's managment so it'll work,  your fusebox still has fuel pump relay and ecu relay, and the o2 relays are allways cliped ontop anyway even tho you have one anyway
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

ok ok , but with the EFI in the 8v work with  16v lump (not 2.0 but a 1.8 16v from a mk2), donT want to be faffing about fitting old injection

And, unlike the second generation MR-2 (featured pirouetting on the cover of CAR Magazine when launched), it'll handle out of the box.

LOL very funny, the MR2 out handles the Golf in every aspect. Far better chassis on the MR2 and loads more feel and tonnes more grip.  Like any Mid ship car, when the back end goes and your not quick enough you will loose it. Mine is the early Rev 1 (same as the one on the CAR cover) with the proper suspension setup, not the later "understeer" setup that the Rev2 + cars had - which was changed as 90% of people that bought them had only driven front wheel drive cars and had no idea how to drive them and ended up in a ditch.

The Golf is a great front wheel drive chassis (hence why this is now my track car) but it is leagues behind the MR2, mainly the wrong wheels are driving the car.
