Sump nut & washer

Anyone know where i can get a sump nut & washer from? my car has just been serviced and a new nut & washer used but would like to by another just incase.

ANywhere apart from VW's themselves as there isn't one local

Ive never changed the sump plug when I service mine, I've done 4 now
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Thats good to hear, i heard the nut threads itself so cant be used again

you should have as the plug isn't reusable

you'll also want a torque wrench for re-fitting as the sump is aluminium and being ali it's very easy to strip the thread.

if you haven't a GSF there are loads on ebay

Whys the sump plug non reusable? if its not why is the sump reusable as surly the thread in the aluminum is weaker than the thread on the plug  :huh:

not sure probably something to do with the washer being integrated into the plug.  I was told that you can't reuse it by a VW master mechanic, and for the sake of £2 i'd rather replace it.

our sump plug was used 8 times on our mk4 and never had a problem so saved about £16 :grin:

My car gets serviced by a ex-vw mechanic and he has never asked me to get a sump plug when he services my car. My next service it due in a couple weeks all i have to get is

Fuel filter
Air filter
Pollen filter
Oil filter
