VW Gamma radio/tape & CD shuttle for Mk.3

I have a Mk.3 Golf and im quite keen to fit the factory VW Gamma radio/tape and CD shuttle. Before anyone throws up their hands in despair, I want to go this route because I like the factory look and in SA thieves have little interest in factory HU's. I have a couple of question's though. Does the the Gamma unit take an ISO connector and does it require the illumination wire to be connected up?? (do the HU's light's go on and off with the dashlight's???)

Second, what type of CD shuttle does this HU connect to? I have been told it takes a Phillips shuttle. What type of performance and audio quality can be expected from this unit with a set of decent speakers???

the gamm unit has an iso plug on it and it should work with the lights being turned on all it does is dim the display a bit
it will only work with a vw changer or single disc the internals may well be phillips but you cannot use a phillips badged changer
