Noisy central locking!

Why is it so damn noisy? Coming from the pump in the boot...

Mine does that too, usually for about 10/20 seconds after unlocking.??
(but not every time) I have no idea about it. :huh:

The pumps are noisy at the best of times, the impellers inside tend to get a bit sticky after years of use, i think it might put more strain on the motor.. hence more noise and vibration,  It should be wrapped up in foam though,  either early ones didnt have it or it gets lost because a few of mine are missing it.

mine is still encased in polystyrene but is a noisy bugger.

I diisconnected it and popped the cap off the have a look and see if there was anything servicable inside - not that i could see!

I put it all back together and hey presto! - it was quiet again for a whole day!  Now it's back to its usual noisy self...
