fooooook it. iv bought it. box, seat cable converter, the lot    and a passat widetrack kit too

going to get on this loom asap. i think as soon as its in front of me, where the lamba goes on the loom, transponder, temp senders/alternator, battery. things will become clear.

danny, your abf synchro. i know the drivetrain saps quite abit of power, but in real term driving how is the feel of the car. how quick is it?  what sort of machinery you keeping up with??

It's fooking fast - we roasted several people in it at the 'ring, who weren't expected to be left for dead by a sheddy Golf2 - at least one Impreza and I can't remember what I took out with it when I poked it round there.

I know he's been toasted by a Civic Type-R, but that was round Ross and there's not a lot of standard stuff round them there parts.

As an engine conversion I'd rate it substantially over anything else I've even done, with regards to percentage improvement over original.

Yeah, good show.

I'm heading that direction myself got my mk3 sitting at my mates gathering dust, found a good link for wiring diagrams.

Which I will post when I find it.

What's the name of the box that makes the rev counter and speedo work properly?

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.

Speedo is driven using a Toledo or Passat speedo cable.

Rev counter needs a line taken out of the innards of the ABF coil.  That DannyP knows about that sort of black magic.

the power the syncro system sapps  you gain back by going round corners faster and been on the power sooner  and it happily pulls off the end of the 120 clock.  power for pound it has to be the best engine to go for imo.

as TC said it was supriseing a lot of cars on the ring  and pulling just the ton up the steep long climb  ( soz i forget the name )  and held it own very well and actualy gained on meany cars going up there.

when i broke the propshaft tho i found it a bit frustrating to drive,  would quite happily spin up toyo t1r's at every opotunity without trying
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

other option for rev counter is to bin the mk3 coil and use the mk2 one instead, this is my prefered route as the mk3 coils can be unreliable.
