I think the old shape MK1 is heading for classic status long before the MK2 does. Although basically the same engine as I have a 1991 Mk 2 and have a 1985 Cab.Today’s standard mod cons like electric windows etc make the MK2’s look (the round shape) much more close to today’s cars and that makes a difference. The late 80’s shapes of cars definitely changed and I think that is where the price divide could be largeAlready I notice parts for the Mk1 are definitely getting more rare and so are the cars. Also the Cabs will last longer as they are usually stored away for the winter. Just my opinion
