ok so i have a good customer at the landrover dealer here in holland and his little "shopping" car is a 1989 golf GTi 8v with a Digifiz dash

Now he wants to take it out and put the original one back in it

now if i help him do this he will GIVE yes GIVE me it ..............................

my question is this , what do i need to remove ??

Gearbox speed sensor ?? wiring loom ?? dash ?? fusebox ??

my car is also a 1989 GTi 8v

ta (ps it might be for sale soon LOL)

Can't help with the wiring shenanigans but you could see that for a bloody mint!

Out of curiosity how much do they go for and are they very different to wire in?

one went for about £200 the other day on fleabay, make sure you get the loom and shizzle for it though otherwise it's a bit of a pain to fit and won't get as much :)

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

£200 ?!? Normally a full Digifiz setup will fetch about £500...

like everything. If advertised properly you can see top dolla.

Ive read that they have slightly diffrent clock brackets.

Personaly i'd sell it on. looks crap but goes for alot of money :grin:

so is there an interior loom and an engine bay loom ???

i'll be removing it but would like to make sure i get it all so i can fit it to my car  :wink: :wink:

you need:
loom from unit to fusebox, either easy if 90spec, or hard if pre-90! Follow the plugs from it as far as you can.
hangers from inside the dash
speedo sensor, though a mk3 one will also work. may as well use his though as he'll need a normal speedo cable!
loom from speedo sensor to dash, but this might be a fair bit of work. not hard to make your own loom up using mk3 speedo sensor plug
