when i picked up the my golf i notice that the rev counter is not working and now the mpg counter is not working!!
has anyone got any ideas?

to put you at ease my mpg reads 8 lol dont worry just drive
o and my rev counter bounces around before it settles

Often this is due to the wires on the coil being the wrong way round.

Ground wire on rocker cover ... +ve feed off coil dropped off, loose vacuum feed to MFA, duff clocks, duff MFA

Yep, check all your vacuum lines, theres a handy chart on the slam panel that shows where they should be. Mine ran like poop and had the mpg issue until I sorted the vacuum system out.

cheers mate
check all that and things look ok there!!! just notice that the clock on the cluster is not keeping the time aswell should i change the lot??
