combes quite a fast circuit as they go so if the brakes are fine there they should be fine most places! tbh though the braking point takes a hell of a long time to to master so you might be wanting better brakes in a year or so!

Braking hard into Avon Rise and Quarry from 110 they were fine which was a result. I know what you mean about mastering the brakes though. Morning was pretty tame as it was wet but in the afternoon I was getting braver and braver. As you say I'll just have to see how I go.

Is the steering wheel a momo team? if it is there worth like 80-100 quid at least! scene tax added of course

Dan

I've no idea. Here's a pic.

You know what it is?

cool stuff nick. car sounds well good for the money. all money saved getting a bargain there can be used for more track days then!

as for brakes. the 16v setup is 256 right? when you need new discs, grab a set of g60's instead and some mk3 gti 280 calipers and carriers, braided lines and should be awesomeness :)

LL :)

Already got braided lines so that's a good thing. As said above I'll keep it as is until I find I need more. No need to spend money if it doesn't need it.

We'll see how they cope on a few more days but right now I have no plans to change them.

Given that it rained the morning and the track only dried out after 3PM, you may well find if it's dry all through on 25th you'll do an awful lot more work with your brakes, which may show up the system a bit.  I wore hardly anything off tyres and brakesin the morning, but the afternoon finished the brakes up and the one session on the T1-Rs really scrubbed them hard - a very, very big difference in wear.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Yeah i think its a team! abit shiny as they came with a more matted finish, but then again trackday abuse will take its toll on it! i think its definetly worth a few quid   money towards next track day?

Yeah the afternoon sessions took a fair bit of meat off the pads but no fading so I was happy. As both you and Mark have said as I get more experienced I'll either find they still hold up OK or I'll need something more. DH I guess your car is harder on both brakes and tyres due to the extra weight of the syncro system as well as the fact all 4 wheels are driven.

Well I think it's 10 years old so who knows! Ideally I'd like to just swap it for a slightly bigger one.

Get yours on a public weighbridge and find out how much it weighs - always revealing and for about £4 it's a lot cheaper than a dyno session.

pop down wokingham scrappy, you drive over the weighbridge when you enter and the weight is displayed outside the office. think its accurate to 20kg's and its free to use! i think you only have to pay if you need the weight printed out for lorry type reasons

mine was 1040 with me sat in it and the full interior and stereo last time i weighed it

AND NO, my car isnt the scrap metal DH or any of you mk2 owners :D
