These would be ideal.

They're very similar to TT comps, but are 16's and lighter too.

16" Merc wheels with stupid low profile tyres are a winner :P

not keen on the tt comps...
but thanks for replying!!
the merc wheels are bloody gorg!!!
but its either a straight swap of whatever i could sell mine for and get new with!!
money is tight at the mo... and i dont think this rubbing is doing it any good, lol
cant even do a national road properly, go down a dip and back up it does an all wheel rub!! lol
cheers!

Well worth checking 2 things on your 17"s, if it is not lowered they should not rub that much.

1) What offset are they, stamped on the wheel will be an et number this needs to be at least 35.
2) Tyres, 205/40/17 are the correct size

I ran 17"s with a 70mm drop and they only caught the rear arch now and then.

Running my wheels Ive had to have all of the arches cut down a lot so its not really cost effective :/

PCD adaptors seem to be pretty pricey to fit merc wheels too :(

Plenty of nice wheels about though! Also, check what Wayne has suggested as if it is standard height, it should not rub that much.

even catches when i get 3/4 lock on??
pain in the arse really, lol
thatnks for the help though??
also, the ride is a bit crap, im guessng that ride quality will improve on 16's?
cheers.

The ride depends on the suspension/tyres aswell as the wheel size but I would say it probably will improve :)

get some pics up mate :)

Sounds like your offset is wrong, this was mine, 7x17 (et35) with 205/40/17's, I had to trim the rear arch lips back but was fine but would still catch now and again if you had weight in the boot.
