Auto Locking Doors
« on: 05 May 2009, 17:33 »
I'm sure that my doors used to lock automatically after I removed the key from the ignition and left it unlocked for a minute or so.. lately it has not been doing this.. any ideas on how to re activate.. I gave tried looking on the convenience menu but cant see anything

I thought they only locked automatically if you unlock the car, but then dont open a door for a minute or so, it then auto re-locks....
Never thought it locked when you remove the key from the ignition, as it wouldnt know if anyone was still inside! lol

Unless..............you've been leaving your car unlocked by accident!!!

The car will only auto lock itself if you unlock the car but don't open any doors. It won't auto lock if you have driven if or opended a door then leave it, it will remain unlocked till you lock it.

There is an anti hijack function which I have had turned on via VAGCOM. This auto locks the door when I go over 10mph and will auto unlock the doors when I take the key out the ignition.

Hope this helps.

You can do it using the Highline MFD also.

I couldn't find this option on my 06 GTi could it be it requires a software update before it appears?
