What springs do I need?
« on: 02 May 2009, 21:25 »
So I fitted a set of Bilstin Shocks with "35mm 16v H&R springs" to my Jetta. This has given it a great stance at the back, but the front is still on stilts! It looks stupid and really needs sorting..

What springs would you recommend I replace them with? I don't know what size to go with as trial and error really isn't an option with springs like it is with coilies!

Cheers!

Try 60mm fronts.

I did indeed! Bought the kit off my mate with intentions of sticking it on my old golf but opted for coilies for it. Had these sat in the garage so thought I might aswell stick them on the jetta!

Plus the "16v" bit, yours is a 1.8 carb isn't it?

I assume the kit was to lower a 16v golf by 35mm?

Mine is a 1.6 carb :)

So anyone know where I can get just front springs?

Jetta = slightly heavier rear than a golf, 1.6 8v is most probably slightly lighter than the 16v up front, resulting in your predicament!

Ebay will be your best bet or you could get a pair of lowering caps for the front but they will only lower it another 10mm.
