Hello chaps,
I've started experiencing some problems with my golf. Bare with me here. I had my car re-mapped just under a week ago.
The car has been running very well for the past week, but on wednesday, the car suddenly went into a bit of a lull. I called my re-mapping guy, who plugged the vag com software into the car and showed me a fault code, indicating the car was losing boost pressure! I had the pipe work checked out and it's all clean. I dropped the car off with vw yesterdaymorning, who claim the car isn't showing a fault code. The Car accelerates and pulls through the revs smoothly, but that push just isn't there. The turbo whistle sounds more prolonged than before - but there is no smoke from the exhausts.
VW have said they can't act, unless they have have a fault code. Understandable. And have asked me to drive it over the weekend and see if i can re-generate the fault code. My mapping guy is coming around today to up load the original map again, to see if we can feel the difference on stock mode. If it is a turbo problem, this should be evident straight off. There's definitely something not right.
What should i do? I've very reluctant to blame the map, but it seems the extra power has pushed the golf over the edge. What if i cannot re generate the fault code? Will VW totally ignore me until something is shown up on their system? Some chaps from another forum have pointed the finger towards the dump valve. The car is totally stock, excluding the remap, of course.
Have any of you ever had a problem after a re-map?
