drive other cars 3rd party?

Im down at uni in plymouth, and live in hertfordshire... basically cant really afford to drive back and forwards to uni in my golf. my mates all have crappy cars that do really high mpg, and say i can drive theirs back and forward to home if i can get insured on it. (half the price in petrol!)
Il be 21 when i come to renew... are there any insurers that actually allow you to drive other cars 3rd party when your 21?
i know most places its 25...

Just got a renewal for £500 from HIC, best price so far. ive got 3 years NCB and 3 Years driving now. however as red said i cant find anyone who will let me drive other cars 3rd party as im a student. has anyone got any ideas? I really want to drive my dads westfield 3rd party!

Assuming you're insured on your own car your policy will normally have a 'driver other vehicle' allowance.  Normally 3rd party only and the borrowed vehicle you want to drive must be insured as well.  Obviously you'll need their permission to drive it as well.

Check you're policy as I guess some cheap/cutdown policies may not have that facility.  Most classic car policies don't have drive other vehicle allowances either.

Yeah, this is what im talking about, apparently, just because i am a student, im not entitled to it from any companies. Its annoying, because i worked for two years before i came to uni, im 21, and i expected that by now i would be able to get decent insurance at a decent price...
Is anyone a student that can drive other cars 3rd party?
