hope everything goes well, and yes take pictures, inside and out, your going to need them after if you not happy with the work etc, also find any pictures you have of the car before the problem occured

if your going to keep the car, and live at the same property, it might really be worth thinking in to getting a decent home alarm, and a camera set up, i know camera set ups aint much any more, im in the process of getting one togther my self, after reading all this, id rather spend £500 on a really good set up, than spend £500 on excess. Plus it helps in more ways than one, the cameras there for any kind of problem, and should make your mrs feel more secure at home, as its not just the car, its the house that was a target aswell.

maybe on the next car get a tracker? i know its headache and more money spent, but theres trackers that are mobile, you just stick it any where in the car, and its not coded to that car, so could be an investment for all your cars, i had one in the past, and you just log on to the net, and you can locate it

Just some of my thoughts to the matter

My house was locked and blinds drawn when they came in, no alarm on the house (when it went) so easy target really

my car should hopefully be collected today and took to the garage for repairing, i have requested to be with the car when its assessed.

The garage told me that was standard procedure by themselves on all stolen vehicles.

Now i know im going to be picky but is it worth taking photographs of the car with me or is this being stupid?

Any help is much appreciated

Chris

I really dont know, she is flipping about having it anywhere near the house as 'they' will come back.

I need opinions, do i keep or trade? realistically if im lucky trade will be 14k (glass as a guide) and it would have to be a GTI - was looking at 130 m sports but its then the problem of putting money to it that i dont have.

If i keep could i be settled????

Has anyone been in this situation?

If I was in your situation I'd trade it in form something else. Maybe an Audi A3? I find Audi's are more subtle than a GTI. I know it seems like the bastiches are making you change your car and thus winning, but if it means piece of mind then isn't that worth it? Just my thoughts.

Hope you get things sorted out with the insurance company soon and best of luck.

Get it repaired and then flog it - I'd either go with another VW or an Audi personally.

tbh, I expected worse :)

Mine kinda looked like that when I found it - very dis-heartening it is too :(

The biggy is to get it hooked up to a diagnostics setup to find out what the engines been doing etc.......

Either way - hope it all works out for you :)
