I could be wrong but i think that code can be flagged if the dizzy isnt timed up right? Maybe?

Any idea how I find out if it's timed up right or not? I'm a noob in the mech department lol!

Okay man, not to worry, what other engines from the MK3 do you have? Something on a 1.8 or 1.6? Even a GTI what do they say?

well the early 2.0 8v GTI 2e engine you set up pretty much like a MK2 digifant GTI, the later ones and abf you set to TDC and the ECU does the rest. Not sure if either of these methods work on yours?

I had this error code as a newbie too. After some research I found that if the engine is off, this error will come up as standard.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious and you're not as dense as me :) but did you do it with the engine running?

If yes, ignore I even saved this post

No I didn't do that, I just had ignition on. You may have given me the greatest news ever :P I'll have to get it VAG Commed again with the engine running, if it still persists I'll be back for more info from you jonny :)

ahh yes, could well be this!
the abf engine crank sensor flags a code if you check it with ign off, but the adz doesnt have one so could be on to a winner there :)

So good news! Nothing is wrong with my car

Tried VAG-COM again today with the engine running and the fault didn't show, tried again with only ignition on, fault was there, so must be what was mentioned earlier, cheers guys :)
