no thats it
remove the factory h/u fit the canbus adapter
connect cabling as required (ignition etc etc)
fit new h/u
job done

It's just I'm sure I read somewhere that someone had to do some soldering too  :shocked:

there should be no need to do any soldering
there would be if you bought a universal canbus adapter as this would require a power source and earth and then you would need to find the can high and can low on the car to join into them
the vw specific one is all plug in
