No Xenons for GTi ?
« on: 20 April 2009, 16:42 »
Was talking with a dealer today (wont mention which one) but they have stated that they are not sure that the Xenons will be even available for the GTi and if, thats a big if, then it wont be for a long time yet.

There available in Germany as they are on the configurator now (were not earlier). Available from end of May week 22 in europe. Cannot see them been that much longer than that in the UK.

The fewer Xenons in the country the better.  The most selfish option to tick in the world....   You might see a little bit more, but every other fecker in front of you will go blind and be distracted by the bouncing jittery light show.

Awesome.

The xenons on the mk5 were good imo. Only the proper factory installed ones, mind you. Not the ebay HID jobbies.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

The amount of times I've been flashed with people thinking my full beam is on is ridiculous but I do think xenons are good, worth the money and people should get used to them as a lot of cars do have them now.  Maybe there is work to be done in terms of glare etc OR everyone should have to wear those dodgy transition lense glasses

I've only ever seen people complain about them who don't own them on their car. Its funny that.

Going by the German VW site, the Xenons will be around £1000-£1200 when they are released here  I was secretly hoping around £800.
