Just got quoted a little over £900 for them, so thats not too bad. Expensive yeah, but at least its not £1025.

Was that from Deal Drivers? I called them up today to try and put my order in. They have put the price of their cars up a little from the website price though. The DSG 3 door is now 21,496 rather than 21,266. They dont have any garages in Scotland that will do that price though, they reckon i will need to get it form near Manchester or Yorkshire. They reckoned they could get one for late July. Did you manage to get any more info out of them if thats who you were dealing with???

Yeah it was them, all I was told previously when I talked with them was my closest garage is in the midlands, for obvious reasons they wouldnt say which. Also, for it to be driven to my house it was free I believe, but Id rather pay the extra and have it transported or I'd make a day of it and go and pick it up myself. The website still states £21,266, they must not have updated the website yet. Also they mentioned the Xenons will appear on the site around Tue as Monday is a bank holiday and they are also still waiting on VW confirming the price is indeed £1025.

I rekon, we take the exact dealdrivers quote into our nearest dealer and see what they can do for us, they can only say no and no harm done.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Neil, when are you thinking of buying your GTi ?

If we both are buying at the same time, from the same place we may have a better chance of good discounts or 'freebie' extra's being thrown in. I doubt they would want almost £50,000 walking out the door if they don't make us both happy

Hey Kev, sorry the internet has been down at home for the last couple of days. Driving me up the wall trying to use my mobile for the net but since i am in the sticks it is as slow as anything! Anyway im back online!

I called Specialist cars Aberdeen yesterday to see what they could do but they weren't giving me any money off and still rekon it will be 6months as their first allocation has all been sold! Then called Verve in Glasgow to see what they could do and i got nearly £2000 off the price with the options so about £500 more that deal drivers but it was much closer to home for me than heading down to England. Also they rekon that i will get it quite soon. The official line is 3 months but they reckon it will be nearer 2 months.

The spec i have ordered is

GTi 3 dr DSG in Candy White
Monza shaddow Alloys
Bi Xenon's
RCD510 stereo + Dynaudio
DAB Radio
Bluetooth kit
Sorage pack
Cruise Control

Can't wait!!!   Need to try and get insurance, thats going to be fun!

Are you going to see what you can get through Verve?

Which Verve in Glasgow ? I was dealing with the Verve in Rutherglen, Glasgow and the guys were, well lets just say I wont be going back. I was going to try my closest VW Arnold Clark. Thats a good discount your getting. Was that £2k from the car price then a % off the extra's too ? Generally as a rule of thumb, you should get the same discount from the extra's as you would from the car price itself.

Nice spec on your car, so you have officially ordered one from them ? If so, congrats

My spec is

3dr Manual GTi in Pearl Black (cant talk the misses into the white)
18" Monzas
Leather seats
Xenons
510 + Dynaudio
Winter/Luxury Packs
DAB Reception

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Sounds good!! Tell her you will keep the white washed and sparkling all the time!!! Just wish they did a heated windscreen like on the Passat CC!! Just need to get it chipped when i get it for some real fun!!

It was Verve on Dalmarnock Road. Me and my sis have both had VW's from Arnold Clark on Crow Road and weren't mad on them. I used to do all my servicing at Verve as i was on the southside when i lived in Glasgow so thought i would see what they can do for me.

Well i prety much told them i was looking at buying the car, gave them the spec for what i wanted and told them i could get it on the net for 24,500 and asked what the best they could do was. They foned me back about an hour later and said 25,600 and i said i wasnt going to pay that much premium over the net, told the guy if he does it for 25 i will buy it now. He said give me 5 mins and i will call you back. Called me back and said can you meet me half way? i said no, and he agreed to do it for 25!

Yeah thats the Verve I went to. Didnt think much of them, went to them twice and both times their service was god awful. Never gave me the time of day. I might give them a go again and try and play a couple of garages off each other.

Well done, and nicely haggled on your car. 2 months they say ? Not too bad.

I know there was a problem with the xenons on the rocco for quite some time, and they were pulled from the extras list. It could be that this is the same problem for the Gti (with them both having a very similar front end).

Quite a few people were left waiting for an awfully long time for their cars due to this problem. Just something to note... dealers will often tell you a problem has been solved when really it has not, as the dont want to risk loosing the sale.

What sort of problems have you heard ?

Ordered my GTI 2 weeks ago, Asked VW to add Xenons to the ordered, Changed order on computer no problems what so ever, Apart from £1024 extra they want from me.
So Yes Xenons are now available to order £1024 extra, Includes all those sh!tty washers things that pop out of the front bumper, Even though i didn't want these im told its law that you have to have those if xenons are on your car.
