Ordered my GTI 2 weeks ago, Asked VW to add Xenons to the ordered, Changed order on computer no problems what so ever, Apart from £1024 extra they want from me.
So Yes Xenons are now available to order £1024 extra, Includes all those sh!tty washers things that pop out of the front bumper, Even though i didn't want these im told its law that you have to have those if xenons are on your car.

When do they rekon you will get your car? Mine is expected anytime in July. What spec you have ordered if you don't mind me asking?

30th July I was told, But the dealer did say It could be before or after.
I ordered mine in Candy White with Xenon lights, Leather, RCD, 18" shadow monza's,Flat-tyre sensor,Autohold, DAB (Digital Radio) upgraded speakers - Although i think the later is included with RCD unit.
 Yourself?

P:S I will be attending some track days and days out sponsered by various websites, Usually i go to ones being organised currently on vwaudi forums. Hopefully ill see you there. I currently have a mk5 GTI and had no problems with it. However i fancied a mk6 soon as I could order one so I did. And powerwise I dont c how the mkV's can argue as our current model is 10bhp lower standard.

30th July ?

Sounds like VW are building to order, I just cant imagine there being that much of an order for them.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Will have photo's up day I recieve it you can be sure.
Interesting to see you choose White also. Personally it was between white and black but took the leap of faith in white, Simply because I thought the MkV in white was by far and away the best color and my current mkV GTI is black so fancied the change.
Any reason u decided to go with the DSG over the manual? Personally Im not much of a cruiser it has to be said being as I live outside the city and have lots of country roads round my house, And thought ide have alot more fun in a manual. Also my parents have the new Socco with the DSG box and whilst its effortless to drive. I carn't c it standing up to racing about never seem to have the gear I want.

And Alan. With my Current mkV I remapped it on about 5k, I had no problems up untill about 50,000 when my engine leaked its coolent into the Cylinder head and had to have a complete new engine under warrenty. Dno if this was caused by the remap never really liked to push the issue with VW as I was worried they might check for modifications. But hopefully I was looking to remap it around 2k this time around. Im going to Nurburgring start of September with some freinds, One has the New Evo FQ-300, Another the new Clio Cup and the other an S3, So fk being last so its defo being map'd up for that. Then its onto amsterdam then ferry home from Rotterdam.

I know there was a problem with the xenons on the rocco for quite some time, and they were pulled from the extras list. It could be that this is the same problem for the Gti (with them both having a very similar front end).

Quite a few people were left waiting for an awfully long time for their cars due to this problem. Just something to note... dealers will often tell you a problem has been solved when really it has not, as the dont want to risk loosing the sale.

What sort of problems have you heard ?

Just that you couldnt get them on the rocco due to manufacturing problems.... heard that from a dealer though so I would take it with a pinch of salt.

Well my current GT TDI is red so i though i am not going to get another red car straight after the last one even though i love it. At one time was considering the rocco and really like it in white and from all the pics and video's on the web decided that white was the colour to go for. I have never been mad on black, it jsut doesn't do it for me, i prefer something either bright or bold.

Yeah i live out in the country and commute 42 miles each way to work up B roads and several unclassified single lane roads. I had a test drive in the rocco with DSG and was really impressed. I think the thing which is good for me is i can just sit in traffic if i can't be arsed overtaking all the slow jo commuters or if i can be arsed or am running late can pop it into manual and just overtake the lot! I put cruise control on in the end too as i thought i could occasionally set it to prevent me from speeding if i am in no rush but it can be hard in a car which keeps calling on you to drive it and throw it into the corners!

Yes they are, but I'd rather pay that than VW's £1025
