Will it affect my car warranty though??

Its a nice little mod and I would have thought it WOULD invalid your warranty. The joys of no more warranty lol

In that case - with 2.5 years still on my warranty I'll pass for now!!

The dealer didnt ring me back as promised yesterday - so I guess its down to me to ring again later today!

This is awful service. Take the car in, drop the keys on the desk - say you don't want to see the car again until its sorted and please can they sort you out a like for like replacement

Its under manufacturer warranty - it costs them NOTHING to fix things like this, and a franchised dealership can charge head office lots of money... they should be jumping all over you!

Exactly what I thought - needless to say I wont be using them for my servicing! I'd rather take the car to another dealer - further away - then go to these guys again!
Will ring them AGAIN in a while....

From what I have been reading on this forum, I am not looking forward to dealing with VW dealers at all!

Servicing my BMW was an absolute dream - it was actually an enjoyable experience, and couldnt praise them high enough

TBH, Ive never experienced anything like it. I mean, even the Ford dealership were better then these guys!
Im sure its just this one particular dealership thats poor though, they cant all be like this as they'd be out of business!

Phoned yesterday, the guy was busy. Was told he would ring me back - nothing.
Rang this morning, the guy wasnt at his desk. Left him an answerphone message - still nothing.

I dont want to drive all the way there again for nothing!

That is terrible. Get his name, and write to head office

Saying that, its what you SHOULD do - I can never be a*sed :)

Something you guys should know about me......Im not one for complaining very easily. If somet is done wrong, I tend to be the quieter kind of guy, that just goes along with things. Life is short.

BUT.......

When I know Im being p*ssed about, and its completely unfair, I do complain. It takes a lot to get on the wrong side of me, but if you ever do, God help ya, cos I dont hold back.

The dealer finally rang me back just now. I told him I was sick of being kept on hold while they try to find out whats going on etc. I asked him which part exactly was broken, as I could see nothing broke at all. He said it was the hose. I then said that I would come in to the dealership right now, and he could show me where it was broken from, as I couldnt see it!
He then said the hose looks like it has been manipulated by someone, which is why its not a warranty job - again I said I would come in and he could show me how they came to this conclusion.

I stated that if i did come in, I would expect re-imbursement for my time (third visit over the same issue), fuel, and milleage.

Suddenly, he changed his tune ;)

Told him I am off of work this week, and have time to get it sorted. Next week Im back to work, and the car will be used much more often, so I want it sorted this week. Otherwise, not only will I lodge a formal complaint, but I will request I am removed from their database and will take by business elsewhere. I would also be asking my 3 other mates who are GTI owners to do the same - so the dealership would lose 4 customers (I made this part up ;) ).

This followed with some quietness.

He then stated, that as a 'gesture of goodwill' he would get the replacement part in for tomorrow and complete the work at 10.30am. ROFL!!!!!

He asked if I would be happy with this, and I said it would be fine. I asked if the new part would therefore mean everything was covered by warranty properly, so I dont have this issue again, and he said it would be.

So looks like its getting sorted. lol

When the job is done, I will ask if I can see the old part that was removed, and for them to show me why exactly a new part was needed in the first place.......I'll let you know how I get on!
