rear wiper
« on: 25 July 2004, 14:33 »
Can some tell me what the full action of the rear wiper is? I mean when you push the wiper stal forward does the wiper move from original postion to the furthest point it shouls and return to the original positon?

Mine is so random at the moment and only moves from original postion (flat) to furthest point (sitting up), when I do it aagin it moves to a dfferent postion and so on, I think my relay is knackered :)

Mine did that, kept parking in stupid places. Take off the boot panel thingy, and remove the wiper mechanism, probably have to remove motor too? Grease the entire system, and the bit where the motor goes into the worm gear. Should be alright after that. Must get dry and stick i suppose?

Thanks, I'll give it go :)

So the wiper should go from start to finish in one motion?

Yes, bottom, top and then back! I guess it just gets stuck cause its dry or something? Well it fixed it for me anyway!

Just took a look at the mechanics and it looks good and greased up!.

I did notice that the relay clicks to start and to stop as usuall, I am thinking it's the relay, when yours clicks on and clicks off does the wiper imedeiately stop on the click off?

Can anyone tell me if the relay clicks coincide with the wiper movements exactly

Thanks

I'd still try greasing it thuogh, cant hurt! I don't think it coincides exactly with the "clicks" I think it clicks off, then parks. Have you checked the wiring where it goes from the car into the tailgate? Can snap/break, causing bad connections leading to loss of wiper totally, or intermittent operation.
