Hi Guys, i got the Sonus Der Wunder drying towels this weekend and gave them a go, i found they werent that great at completely dying the car, When i use a Chamoix Leather i get the bits i have done bone dry, with the cloths they dried it but not fully, leaving a few water marks.

At the time i hadnt given them a wash which i now have, will this help with absorbancy or are they just a different style of drying?

Thanks,

R

i found completely the opposite tbh... my towels get the car completely bone dry... and chamois leaves water marks

wash with liquid detergent and don't use conditioner

Well I've officially given up on the Sonus Towels after using them 3 times. They just dont seem to get the car dry properly and in fact yesterday after using them i noticed they had left a whirling effect on the paintwork in the sun meaning i had to give the motor a good wax to restore the shine.

I know a lot of people use them and i cant really see how i can be doing it wrong but they just dont seem to work as well as a good Shammy for me.

A whirling? How would waxing fix this?

Drying towels get better and better as they are used. They also work better the wetter they are.

Try soaking it and then drying it out as much as possible before use, also use a detailer spray while drying.

My towel is brilliant. Are you sheeting the water off before drying? A leather chamois is useless, i dont wring out my towel once and had to al the time with a chamois! Then there were the scratches it left from being to tough!

A quick layer of Megs NXT Wax 2.0 seemed to get rid of the marking the towel left, it wasnt deep, just showed up quite badly in the sun.

Maybe i just need to try it more, i'll go for the soak + wring option before i use it next time, though i have tried this before too, I just dont find it leaves it completely dry where as my good quality shammy does.

When you say sheeting, what do you mean? I normally give it a blast with the pressure washer and push as much of the standing water as possible off with that but there is usually still some on the flat surfaces etc...
