Deep black, manual, 5dr, ACC, winter pack, cloth (leather is just too cold or hot for me and I WANT the jacara tartan).
Congrats, I originally wanted leather, then when I saw the seats I loved them too, then when I saw the leather I thought it just looked much more classy especially with the colour of the car. I couldn't make my mind up for a while.
The dealer I'm buying from had the tartan seats in his showroom model. In contrast to the one I had the test drive from, who had both showroom and test cars in leather.
I admit to a sneaky desire for the leather still (the car I'm scrapping has leather seats), and I originally intended to have it. However, a few things swayed me. First, I liked the DSG, and having that
and the leather started to make the price a bit eye-popping. So I began to consider having the DSG instead of the leather. Then several people praised the cloth seats, saying they were warmer, and wear well, and indeed look less doom-and-gloom in the black interior. Then I saw the cloth seats in the showroom car at the second dealer, and it's true, they do look good. I still like the leather, but I think I like £1,675 better.
The second dealer seems to be a bit of a fan of the car. He enthused about the cloth seats, saying that VW had gone back to the original Golf GTi design in including them, and said he thought it made the car classic and reminiscent of its illustrious ancestor. He actively tried to talk me out of the leather.
So it's cloth on the order, and will stay like that unless I have a change of heart before the build starts.
Rolfe.
