Whats the difference if any between the earlier 1998-1999 and the slightly newer 1.8t golfs? looking at a 1998 one, are the older ones less reliable or have issues? thanks peeps.

Early 1.8T's typically AGU has the smaller k03 turbo. The newer AUM and AUQ's have the k03'S and VVT

AGU tends to be more reliable TBH ie the coilpacks are rocksolid on AGU's unlike AUMs. Make sure you have history

Oh right thanks, one im looking at has 120,000 miles though. is that excessive or not to bad if it has FSH. My 1,6se golf had 132,000 miles on and the engine was still solid so im guessing it will be fine :)
