Moving H/U on MK3
« on: 31 March 2009, 08:46 »
Im thinking about moving my h/u from the standard location and moving it to the big open space below just in front of gearstick. Just wanting to know what i could use to blank the hole and what be strong enough to support weight of h/u
cheers

IMO you would have to fit some metal brackets back to something solid.

Dont think the plastic in that area will cope with all the vibrations.

i was thinking the same that i would need some kind of bracket fitted to take most of the weight...its just trying to find something that would cover the hole that dont look to out place

why would you want to put it there the h/u is to wide to fit straight in and the console would need cutting
also why put it somewhere that is more awkward to control it from
