I have bought my Golf Gti turbo with a atmospheric Bailey d/v already on it, and i read somewhere in this forum that its not doing it any good, and that i should stick to the re-circulating one..is this true, but i noticed i will need another pipe to put a standard valve back on, so was wondering if anyone may have one laying about that would like to sell it to me. At the moment, this d/v is seems to be running alright so im not sure whether to put an re-circulating one back on, or just leave it? I have an AGU engine, and no lights or anything is showing. I have took it to a VW garage to get the ecu checked out, and its showing no faults at all! Any help or suggestions is grately appreciated. thanx

it is recomended BUT on agu engines ( i have the same) it is said an atmospheric is fine and will not give you any mechanical problems.. but are you getting any turbo lag through the rev range?? if so then its best to get a forge 007 or a forge splitter-r which is what i have in my golf .. and it does the job ace.. also gives nice whoosh sound

Hi..thanx for your reply, yes i do get alil turbo lag when you put your foot down, but its only for a second or two, im not sure whether that d/v has anything to do with it, cos i heard that its a common thing on the Golfs!..is that true? If that d/v is def causing that turbo lag, then yes i would like to change it back to a re-circulating one, but im not sure how to put it back, cos i think i need an extra pipe to put it back, but not sure where to get hold of one.

the forge splitter dv will be fine with an agu engine as on the agu it doesn't have to re-circulate like on an aum engine and won't cause issues with the ecu etc the forge dv is preferable to the bailey unit
