« on: 29 March 2009, 19:21 »
I`m just curious as to what you guys use to clean the twin tail pipes?

Mine look really dull and could with brightening up a bit, do you use brasso, autosol or anything like that?

Thanks

Dave

Megs NXT metal polish has always worked for me (with a bit of elbow grease ) - can get it from Halfrauds

Megs cleaner, if its really bad autosol followed by megs cleaner, if its REALLY bad fine grade wirewool followed by autosol followed by megs cleaner.

Autosol works well but leaves no layer of protection so the metal will get dirty quickly & be harder to clean, meguires will leave the metal in a better condition so it's advisable to use it at least after autosol (plus it smells nice! ;))

if they are knackered then use fine grade wet & dry on them... follow that up with a good going over with autosol and then follow that up with a few goings over with belgom alu (it has wax in it) then further protect it with some wax of your choosing

Belgom alu is great, refurbed some wheels on a mates Scirocco and used that as the final wax/sealant....

Excellent work on them alloys

Well I`ve jusrt had a go with some autosol and some fine grade wire wool, not perfect but they will do for now until I`ve got a bit more time:
