I'm getting tempted with the highline as mine is midline! But if its goina cost alot I don't really think its worth going that extra mile! (unless its a reasonable retro fit price??????????????????????)

To check service remaining - get in car, shut the door, turn ignition on and then press and hold the trip reset, the trip will zero but if you continue to hold the service info appears telling how many miles till next service. Let go and normal service should be resumed.

Do not let it put you off buying a car if it has not got highline especially if 2nd hand and the car is mint condition but not got highline. Looks a bit better but not essential.

I just can't believe it's not standard anyway! Ridiculous IMHO. The unit cost per car output would be in the pennies yet marketing get a hold of it and use it to in some way steal a price point somewhere? How much is it by the time retail get their mitts on it? It's definately worth having but it should be included as standard.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

I completely agree, especially on a top model car - but thats car manufacturers for you...

i agree, especially when it's £50 option
when if they produced all with it the unit cost would come down even further for them too

wholesale parts will be in the pennies...would seem more costly to have the production line set up to differentiate between those cars with it and those without it!

for example, i have a friend who works for Grants Whiskey in Production.  Unit cost per btl is something like 0.12p whilst Malt Whiskey is something ridiculous at 0.27p....by the time you add on marketing, adveritising, tax, retail mark ups we pay of the order of £10-£35 for whiskey.

Similarly Pizza Huts pizzas are about 4p each to make..............

No idea why they would want to make Highline a £50 option other than to give the dealers more mark up... I mean, its not as if £50 is going to make you buy a Golf over a rival priced car is it...you either want it or you don't.
